2018 Donor Recognition Reception

Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Donor Recognition Reception, celebrating 120 years! Our communities’ future depends upon all children having what they need to reach their full potential, cognitively, socially, and emotionally. The reception marks Arden Shore's annual opportunity to reflect on those who made the mission possible—volunteers, donors, and friends—who help Rebuild Children’s Lives.

President and CEO, Dr. Dora Maya, and Board Chair, Dottie Rzeszutko, stressed how proud Arden Shore is to partner with outstanding members of our community—leaders like you—to provide effective, expert programs and services that make home a place where everyone can thrive.

The Honorable Chris Stride delivered the evening's keynote address. Noting his experience working with families impacted by poor mental health and substance abuse, Judge Stride applauded Arden Shore's supporters for being a part of the solution to achieve community well-being. In a call to action, Judge Stride asked everyone to help reduce mental health stigma by talking about the work of Arden Shore with friends, to bring mental health out of the shadows so our neighbors might be more comfortable seeking the help they need when they need it.

Congressman Brad Schneider delivered closing remarks, hailing Arden Shore for its vital contribution to the community, striving to ensure everyone can reach their full potential.

Thank you to everyone who attended and those who supported the children and families Arden Shore serves throughout the year. Arden Shore is again humbled by its community committed to Rebuilding Children's Lives and looks forward to sharing future successes with you!

The Art of Being Kind 2018 Summer Benefit

Thank you to Arden Shore's friends who showed just what it means to be kind on June 10 at the Art Center Highland Park, by taking the time to meet the families of Arden Shore and the dedicated staff members who support them. Due to their support, Arden Shore's 2018 Summer Benefit--The Art of Being Kind--inspired $40,000 in giving to support the children and families who benefit from Arden Shore's services designed to Rebuild Children's Lives! Speakers at the event emphasized the critical work of Arden Shore and the organization's transformational impact on hundreds of children and families every year.
Thank you to the event's keynote speaker, Andrea Durbin, CEO of the Illinois Collaboration on Youth. Andrea made clear the urgent need for strong investment in quality prevention, family preservation, and child therapeutic services like those offered at Arden Shore. Foster Parents Marisol and Sean Rasmussen retold their first hand experiences of witnessing families reunited and children finding safe, stable, and loving homes. Arden Shore extends our appreciation to Marisol and Sean for sharing their stories, their home, and their hearts to so many children.
Thank you to all for your support and your kindness. Arden Shore looks forward to sharing and celebrating the positive impact on the community we can make when we work together!
