Because of Carmen and her community, one hundred children will have a warm coat to wear this winter!
Carmen (pictured left), a foster mother and former intern with Arden Shore, wanted to find a way to make a difference this giving season for children participating in the foster care program.
Carmen organized a community coat drive with the help of Rocio (pictured middle), Daisy (pictured right), and Elena (not pictured). The team set a call to action to their friends and business partners and gathered 101 new winter coats and 97 sets of hats and gloves/mittens for children in Arden Shore’s foster program.
Carmen shared, “Just because a person carries a situation well doesn’t mean it isn’t heavy on them. Today we were able to give love and warmth. I know I can’t fix the disparities within foster care in our community, or even in my own family overnight, but I can bring awareness and give love. After all, a child can never have too many people that love them. I pray the warmth the items provided to the children in our community, allow them to know they are loved and cared for.”
You, too, can help support Arden Shore’s community. Please consider donating today, because no child can ever have too many people who love them.
