Arden Shore is seeking Master’s Level MSW and MA-Counseling (or the like) students for a dynamic and formative clinical internship. We expect that upon completion students will be thoroughly prepared to obtain employment in a variety of settings. The internship includes competency development in completing assessments and treatment plans and utilization of multiple treatment modalities with children, adolescents and adults. Students will become highly educated with regards to providing trauma informed treatment and they will learn to implement the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency framework (ARC), an evidence based model utilized to treat traumatic stress in children and adolescents. Lastly, students will be proficient in the completion of Medicaid compliant documentation which is a valuable skill with the expansion of managed care organizations.
Arden Shore provides a number of services in both English and Spanish. Spanish speaking clinicians are strongly encouraged to apply. The behavioral health program provides services to individuals and families including individual, family and couples counseling to community members, those involved with the child welfare system and probation. We also provide substance abuse services, domestic violence services, anger management and trauma informed parenting. We currently accept private pay clients as well as clients who have insurance through the Department of Human Services or one of the Managed Care Organizations.
“Before Arden Shore, I wasn’t completely sure what type of career I wanted to pursue after I graduated but Arden Shore helped me see that I love being a therapist and having my own caseload of clients. I cannot wait to start my career as a therapist. Without this experience, I don’t think I would have chosen to become a therapist. Thank you so much for this opportunity, it was truly life changing!”
—Maria, MSW Intern
Given our expansive services, we have the capacity to take a number of clinical interns to provide them with a variety of learning experiences. Student interns are supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who is present when students are in placement to provide clinical support and direction. We are seeking very motivated students who have the ability to dedicate their time (which includes late afternoons, evenings and weekends, Tuesday-Saturday) to their placement and the at-risk, high need population we serve.
Requirements include DCFS background clearances, IM+CANS certification (which can be obtained after placement is confirmed), physical and TB test. Additional paperwork includes a current resume, three letters of recommendations and DCFS required forms.
We are very committed to providing students with a vast and enriching experience so students are prepared to enter the mental health workforce. Resumes and emails of interest should be sent to the Clinical Supervisor; Africa Brown, LCSW at abrown@ardenshore.com. Ms. Brown can also be reached at 847-623-1730 x170
